Job Title: Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA)
Location: Los Angeles, California
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $148 – $160/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a temporary assignment in Los Angeles, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):
• Support a joint preservation surgeon in both surgical and clinic settings on a full-time basis
• Assist with total hip and knee replacement surgeries and surgical revisions (arthroplasty)
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient appointments in clinic
• Conduct follow-up appointments for surgical patients
• See approximately 30 patients per day in clinic and assist with approximately 6 surgical cases per surgery day
• Work with a mostly adult-geriatric patient population
• Collaborate with support staff including Medical Assistants, Nursing Staff, and Scribes
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and charting
• Maintain active CA license, Board Certification, and DEA registration
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal ramp-up time, with 1+ year of experience required
• Demonstrate strong surgical background, with orthopedic surgery experience highly preferred
• Adhere to a structured weekly schedule alternating between surgical and clinic days
