Job Title: Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA)
Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Schedule: 6:00AM – 6:00AM x 2
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $739 – $796/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a locum tenens assignment in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):
• Provide coverage for Cardiac Surgery APP role on a weekend schedule (Friday 5pm to Monday 7am)
• Cover 3 weekends per month with 24-hour call availability
• Average approximately 4 hours per day of callbacks including rounding
• Provide care for adult patient population (ages 18+)
• Support urgent cardiac surgery cases, including patients coming from the cath lab to surgery
• Perform vein harvesting procedures
• Manage patients transitioning from ICU to discharge
• Collaborate with supervising surgeon who is available for backup following consult
• Utilize EPIC EMR system for documentation and charting
• Maintain active PA license and DEA certification
• Hold a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Maintain board certification as required
• Adhere to all credentialing and privileging requirements, with full compliance due 2 weeks prior to start
