Job Title: Scrub-Tech
Location: Mammoth Lakes, California
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $39 – $42/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Scrub-Tech for a temporary assignment in Mammoth Lakes, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Scrub-Tech:
• Create and maintain a sterile field
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening
• Anticipate the need for equipment and supplies before the case begins
• Assure all equipment is functioning before use
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions
• Scrub all surgical procedures and understand the special needs, techniques, and requirements of the individual surgeon
• Ability to scrub specialty surgeries without the presence of a sales representative, including sports medicine and trauma
• Assist RN with completion of operative charge and recording of hardware used during procedure
• Collect specimens and cultures by verifying source and correct tissue identification with surgeon
• Maintain current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
• Work varied 12-hour day/evening shifts over a 13-week assignment
• Participate in on-call requirements as needed
• Hold or be eligible for Surgical Technician certification
• Possess a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of operating room experience as a Surgical Technician or equivalent training
