Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: Mammoth Lakes, California
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 43-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $130 – $140/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a temporary assignment in Mammoth Lakes, California. These positions are 43-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Provide routine medical management of inpatient care including ordering of diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, medications (within the scope of the PA license) and nutrition, managing adjunctive care
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communication of treatment plans with orthopedic physician, nursing staff, and families
• Manage discharge of patients with appropriate disposition, follow-up planning, adjunctive therapy management and education
• Make assessment of emergency conditions and, in conjunction with attending physician, implement management surgery
• Perform bedside History and Physical when needed
• Initiate appropriate emergency care in the inpatient and outpatient setting
• Function as first or second assistant in the operating room including performing surgical exposure, surgical dissections, layer closure of wounds, and application of dressings and immobilization devices
• Cover first assist on-call shifts for the Operating Room, evenly distributed among physician assistants across surgical specialties
• Provide rotating coverage for holiday and high-volume event dates
• Maintain direct reporting responsibility to the Attending Physician for all evaluations and duties performed
• Maintain valid State of California Physician Assistant License
• Maintain current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
• Maintain active DEA license
• Work full-time, on-call coverage to include nights and weekends
• Provide coverage at alternate clinic location as needed
