Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: La Jolla, California
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $126 – $136/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a temporary assignment in La Jolla, California. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Round on patients alongside 4 other APPs per day in an inpatient Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit
• Manage an average patient census of 10-12 patients per day
• Perform care coordination for BMT patients including admits and discharges
• Provide care for patients experiencing relapse after transplant
• Manage malignant hematology cases with common co-morbidities
• Apply thorough understanding of hematological blood cancers and cellular transplant processes
• Work 12-hour day shifts (0700-1930) across a unit operating 7 days per week, Monday through Sunday
• Maintain valid California (CA) state licensure
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications
• Demonstrate BMT experience or extensive inpatient Hematology/Oncology experience
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including Hospitalist coverage for night calls
