Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: Potsdam, New York
Schedule: 6:00AM – 4:00PM x 6
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $127 – $136/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens assignment in Potsdam, New York. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Provide general medical care to hospital patients
• Diagnose and treat various illnesses and diseases in a hospital setting
• Examine patients as they are admitted to the hospital
• Coordinate care for hospitalized patients
• Communicate with a patient’s primary care doctor regarding treatment and progress
• Follow up with a patient’s primary care doctor after their hospital stay
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and X-rays
• Answer patient questions about treatments and care plans
• Maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Work a 7 on/7 off schedule with 14 shifts per month (7a-7p)
• Maintain valid NY State License
• Must be Board Certified
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Adhere to department dress code policies including business casual attire
• Clock in and out at shift start and end times
• Take required 30-minute lunch breaks
• Obtain supervisor approval prior to working any overtime
• Provide a minimum of 2-hour notice for call-ins and notify supervisor
• Refrain from personal cell phone use during shift
• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
• Utilize Pyxis automated medication dispensing system as needed
