Job Title: MA
Location: Novato, California
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $20 – $22/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MA for a temporary assignment in Novato, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MA:
• Room patients including obtaining vital signs, documenting reason for visit, and recording symptoms, their frequency, and severity
• Document all required information accurately in electronic medical records
• Provide injections and immunizations as ordered by the provider
• Provide assistance during medical procedures
• Obtain all patient information required to meet regulatory obligations
• Track the receipt of all results for all ordered tests
• Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) as well as all quality controls
• Use electronic medical records and work off task lists to complete patient visits or requests
• Provide patients with accurate information when answering questions and concerns
• Maintain patient records and protect patient confidentiality
• Complete referrals accurately and appropriately
• Disinfect exam rooms between patients and all patient areas at the end of the day
• Assist with clinic upkeep including daily cleaning and supply ordering/inventory
• Perform reprocessing of scopes and/or probes after completion of competency in specialty clinics
• Perform all steps related to sterilization of instruments and use of autoclave
• Remain calm and effective in emergency or high-pressure situations
• Collaborate with team members on various ongoing projects
• Comply with all OSHA and safety regulations
• May be required to work in multiple locations
• Maintain current BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• Hold a Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA or AMCA
• Have at least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician’s office or other clinical setting
