Job Title: Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP)
Location: Longview, Washington
Schedule: 2:00PM – 10:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $119 – $128/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP) for a locum tenens assignment in Longview, Washington. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP):
• Serve as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in General Surgery with primary responsibility for rounding and assisting trauma surgeons
• Provide secondary support in the General Surgery clinic for post-operative trauma care
• Work variable 9-hour shifts (0700-1600) with alternating weekends; open to 4×10-hour shift schedule for the right candidate
• Provide both inpatient and outpatient care within a 122-bed facility
• Manage an average of 10-15 patients per day, serving adult and geriatric populations (18+)
• Perform rounding and admissions duties
• Provide post-operative care; surgical first assist experience desired but not mandatory
• Assist with OR first assist or other intraoperative assistance as required (no vein harvesting or robotic surgery experience required)
• Apply hospitalist background and experience, which is strongly desired for this role
• Perform wound care procedures
• Work collaboratively with a team that may include trauma surgeons and a complement of up to 3 surgeons and a PA in the clinic
• Operate under MD sponsorship within a support staff/supervision model
• Utilize cosign process for prescriptive authority until independent acquisition is obtained
• Document clinical activity using the Epic EMR system
• Maintain active Washington state licensure (required at time of start)
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications (from AHA or American Red Cross)
• Submit documentation (case list) of clinical services provided within the previous 24 months, including diagnosis or procedure, date, and facility where performed
• Adhere to flu vaccine requirement (medical/religious exemptions only)
