Job Title: Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP)
Location: Long Beach, California
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $136 – $146/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP) for a temporary assignment in Long Beach, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP):
• Cover OR and clinic settings, with potential to cover outpatient/clinic only
• Work primarily in clinic setting
• May go into hospital for new patient consults
• Perform and record history and physical examinations in pre-operative setting
• Provide patient care expertise in postoperative acute care units
• See patients for follow-up visits in the office
• Manage cardiac surgery patients pre- and post-operatively
• May work across care settings to follow patients
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation
• Maintain current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California
• Maintain current certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
• Maintain current furnishing license to furnish medications in the State of California
• Maintain current DEA certification
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
• Complete required non-billable computer modules (approximately 4 hours) prior to start
• Self-report any additional time spent on modules beyond the standard 4 hours
• Comply with flu vaccine requirement (medical/religious exemptions considered)
