Job Title: Lab Tech
Location: Hamburg, Iowa
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $39 – $42/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Lab Tech for a temporary assignment in Hamburg, Iowa. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Lab Tech:
• Perform, interpret, and correlate clinical laboratory tests according to established procedures and protocols.
• Accurately communicate and document test results in a timely manner to support patient care and treatment decisions.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring proper documentation of quality control activities.
• Identify and resolve routine equipment issues and report complex malfunctions to the Laboratory Supervisor.
• Adhere to all laboratory policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain current professional knowledge and competencies through ongoing continuing education requirements.
• Attend departmental meetings, in-service training sessions, and other educational opportunities.
• Collaborate effectively with providers, nursing staff, and fellow laboratory team members to deliver outstanding patient care.
• Possess a current license in the state where the laboratory is located.
• Hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Science, or Chemical Science from an accredited institution; or an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science from an accredited institution; or successful completion of an accredited clinical laboratory training program approved by ABHES, CAAHEP, HHS, or another recognized accrediting organization.
• Maintain ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Be available for weekend call as required.
