Job Title: Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA)
Location: Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin
Schedule: 2:00PM – 10:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $135 – $146/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a locum tenens assignment in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):
• Work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with potential call rotation
• Support surgeons, PA-Cs, and RNs in a cardiothoracic surgery department
• Examine patients, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Perform technical, clinical, and surgical procedures as required
• Document patient progress and surgical care using Epic EMR system
• Perform endoscopic saphenous vein harvests and radial artery harvests
• Place and remove chest tubes and catheters
• Intubate and extubate patients as needed
• Place and remove central lines and arterial lines
• Utilize robotic surgical equipment; robotic lung experience is a plus but not required
• Maintain active board certification and valid state licensure
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain active DEA registration
• Possess a minimum of 1-2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience, with at least one year as a first assist in a CVOR specific to cardiac surgery
• Adhere to COVID-19 vaccine requirements (medical/religious exemptions only)
