Job Title: OB Nurse
Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $72 – $77/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OB Nurse for a temporary assignment in Mauston, Wisconsin. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OB Nurse:
• Complete initial nursing histories, assess patients’ conditions, and develop individual plans of care for assigned patients
• Appropriately triage patient care based on presenting or expressed symptoms
• Accurately administer medications
• Assess labor progression
• Manage induction of labor and cervical ripening
• Competently manage medical emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, management of meconium, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa
• Perform and accurately interpret fetal heart monitoring
• Manage pregnancy-related concerns such as hypertension and diabetes
• Assess condition of newborns and recognize situations requiring heightened surveillance or a higher level of care
• Perform neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification
• Recognize and manage neonatal sepsis
• Monitor newborns for adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice, and intervene appropriately
• Promote patient education and involvement in newborn care
• Identify and promptly alert providers about patient status changes
• Communicate effectively with the patient’s care team
• Cross-train and provide care for Med Surg/EICU patients when needed
• Maintain Wisconsin Registered Nursing license
• Maintain AHA BLS certification
• Obtain NRP certification within 6 months of hire
• Obtain ALSO certification within 1 year of hire
• Obtain STABLE certification within 1 year of hire
• Obtain Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within 1 year of hire
