Job Title: OB Nurse
Location: Grants, New Mexico
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $72 – $77/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OB Nurse for a temporary assignment in Grants, New Mexico. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OB Nurse:
• Must work in both Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Postpartum settings
• Work 12-hour rotating night shifts, including possible holiday and weekend coverage
• Maintain 36 guaranteed hours per week with occasional labor call or overtime
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes
• Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care
• Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development
• Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs
• Maintain current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent
• Maintain current ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications
• Complete OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification within 12 months of start
• SAFER NM Technician certification preferred
• Demonstrate skill in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment
• Apply knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance
• Adhere to the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, procedures, and current evidence-based guidelines
