Job Title: CARDIAC CATH LAB
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $72 – $77/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a CARDIAC CATH LAB for a temporary assignment in Rockford, Illinois. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a CARDIAC CATH LAB:
• Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients
• Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act as required by care setting
• Ensure all documentation is accurate and comprehensive in accordance with established standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the patient’s individualized needs, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy
• Utilize resources available to teach and support patient and family education, providing education to the appropriate level of understanding
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Utilize clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Act to resolve systems breakdowns and engage self and others in providing solutions
• Utilize critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience, manage complex situations, and delegate to other staff appropriately
• Escalate to the appropriate chain of command as needed
• Positively influence the professional and organizational environments and shared governance
• Engage in personal development and support continuous learning and growth, including developing or revising evidence-based practice guidelines
• Support and participate in peer review and peer feedback opportunities
• Participate in the professional nursing continuum
• Maintain timely flow of patients, respond to telephone calls, and perform telephone triage of patients (Clinic and Ambulatory settings)
• Work Day Shift with an On-Call Rotation including weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Maintain current IL RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Successfully pass EKG test prior to completion of orientation
