Job Title: Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP)
Location: Springfield, Oregon
Schedule: 7:30AM – 5:30PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $1028 – $1107/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP) for a locum tenens assignment in Springfield, Oregon. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP):

• Provide Advanced Practice Provider (APP) services in Vascular Surgery with a 1.0 FTE commitment
• First day of assignment is reserved for orientation tasks
• Work 10-hour call shifts (0700-1700 or 1700-0700, beeper-based) Monday-Friday and/or 24-hour call shifts (0700-0700) Monday-Friday or weekends as scheduled
• Report at the beginning of each 0700 shift to perform handoff, rounding, and related duties
• Fulfill clinic hours of 0800-1630 as applicable
• Provide coverage for assigned night shift gap dates in October, November, and December as needed
• Complete a minimum of 6 call shifts per month
• Perform both rounding and patient admissions
• Manage an average of 15-20 patients per day across inpatient (36-bed unit) and outpatient settings
• Provide care for vascular and endovascular patient populations
• Serve as first assist in the OR and assist with in-clinic procedures
• Work collaboratively with an attending MD/DO; provider will not work solo
• Maintain privileges for both clinic and hospital settings
• Maintain valid and current state licensure; Oregon licensure preferred for earlier start dates
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications (must be from American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Receive and maintain COVID-19 vaccination with no exemptions
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation
• Provide documentation of clinical services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested within the previous 24 months
• Submit a case log of surgical cases for the last 24 months, including documentation by a surgeon indicating whether assistance was as first, second, or third assist
• Provide specific documentation of training and competency for NP surgical first assist privilege, including type and number of procedures in the last two years and the name of the primary operator
• Complete all required credentialing and privileging documentation prior to start of services
