Job Title: Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $120 – $130/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Minneapolis, Minnesota. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Oncology Nurse Practitioner:
• Provide inpatient Hematology/Oncology APP services in a hospital setting with 686 beds
• Manage 11-16 patients per day across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Demonstrate comfort and experience with benign and malignant hematology patients in an unsupervised work setting
• Perform initial consults, ongoing patient care, and discharge execution for inpatient services
• Conduct clinic visits including cycle 1 day 1 chemotherapy overviews, ongoing chemotherapy visits, and survivorship appointments
• Provide Hypersensitivity Reaction supervision
• Provide triage support and medical record in-basket support
• Complete same-day documentation for inpatient services
• Complete documentation within 3 days maximum for outpatient services
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all charting and documentation
• Support both hematology and medical oncology outpatient coverage as needed
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain valid MN state license
• Maintain board certification as a PA or NP
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery
• Demonstrate knowledge of bone marrow practices as the bone marrow program develops
