Job Title: Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $120 – $130/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Minneapolis, Minnesota. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Oncology Nurse Practitioner:
• Provide inpatient Hematology/Oncology APP services as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Work day shift hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Manage 11-16 patients per day across all age groups including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Demonstrate comfort and experience with benign and malignant hematology patients in an unsupervised inpatient work setting
• Perform initial consults, ongoing inpatient patient care, and discharge execution
• Conduct clinic visits including cycle 1 day 1 chemotherapy overviews, ongoing chemotherapy visits, and survivorship appointments
• Provide Hypersensitivity Reaction supervision
• Offer triage support and medical record in-basket support
• Maintain same-day documentation for inpatient services
• Maintain same-day documentation for outpatient services, with a maximum of 3 days
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation and charting
• Support both inpatient hematology and oncology services, with flexibility to cover both areas
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain valid MN state licensure
• Demonstrate knowledge of bone marrow practices, with specialized expertise preferred but not required
• Maintain board certification as a PA or APP
• Complete orientation hours as required (16 hours)
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and compliance documentation requirements
