Job Title: MED-SURG/TELE
Location: Clarkston, Washington
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $62 – $67/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG/TELE for a temporary assignment in Clarkston, Washington. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG/TELE:
• Provide nursing care in MSU/PCU setting with willingness to flex into other departments as needed
• Maintain active WA state RN license
• Identify patient and significant others’ needs for patient education and provide education utilizing appropriate modalities
• Identify and provide for patient safety through preventative measures including side rails, restraints, and safe use of equipment
• Follow restraint policy correctly, evaluate, and document appropriately
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation of all equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
• Utilize troubleshooting techniques and follow procedures for repair of essential equipment; access equipment manuals as needed
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures using proper procedures and documentation
• Utilize standard precautions at all times
• Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shift
• Document charges accurately
• Ensure accuracy and complete physician orders in a timely manner
• Complete 24-hour check of orders when within duties of assigned shift
• Give change of shift report to oncoming employees in a complete and accurate manner
• Communicate with other departments completely and accurately
• Report critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, room supplies, and general supplies
• Perform other duties as assigned
