Job Title: MED-SURG/TELE
Location: Lancaster, Ohio
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $59 – $63/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG/TELE for a temporary assignment in Lancaster, Ohio. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG/TELE:
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process
• Provide quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway
• Provide education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge
• Provide thorough, concise, accurate, and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway
• Notify physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status
• Administer medications and perform treatments in an accurate and safe manner
• Implement physician orders as written
• Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to the proper department
• Accept responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care
• Supervise and direct the work of Nursing Assistants in a professional manner
• Maintain valid licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
• Maintain current CPR certification
• Comply with established policies, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines
• Create and maintain a safe and clean work environment and report unsafe conditions to appropriate individuals
• Recognize and anticipate the needs of patients and strive to surpass patient expectations
• Demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and complete all mandatory education
• Utilize strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues
• Manage multiple priorities and make independent decisions as required
• Demonstrate ability to handle urgent situations calmly and communicate empathically with patients
