Job Title: Cardiologist
Location: Bellingham, Washington
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 14-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $242 – $260/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Cardiologist for a temporary assignment in Bellingham, Washington. These positions are 14-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Cardiologist:
• Serve in a Non-Invasive Cardiologist (Hospitalist) role providing both inpatient and outpatient coverage with a primary focus on hospital-based support
• Perform rounding and admissions, primarily STEMI admissions (approximately a couple per week), with the remainder being consults and follow-up rounds
• See an average of 14–16 patients per day
• Perform required procedures including Cardioversions and TEEs (approximately 2–4 TEEs per shift)
• Be licensed and credentialed to read Echo, Cardiac Nuclear, TEE, and perform Cardioversion
• Demonstrate experience with cardiac nuclear medicine (Nuclear Board Certification not required)
• Provide cardiovascular disease services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested, with documentation of clinical activity within the previous 24 months
• Care for adult patient populations in a 247-bed facility
• Collaborate with an ARNP present daily (except Sundays) and work alongside General Cardiology staff
• Participate in on-call coverage, averaging a 1:6 call ratio, including 24-hour weekend call
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications (from American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccine requirements (no exemptions)
• Complete 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Maintain valid Washington State license and DEA registration prior to start
