Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Manager for a permanent assignment in Chico, California.

Responsibilities for a Manager:

• Assist with the development, maintenance, and evaluation of an environment that supports the practice of nursing and the delivery of high quality patient care on a twenty-four hour basis for GI Services
• Monitor staff and quality of procedures in the area of supervision
• Carry out assignments in a manner to support success in patient care, financial management, human resources management, leadership, quality, and operational management objectives
• Participate in program development and unit performance improvement
• Fulfill the role of Charge Nurse, or provide direct patient care or education as needed
• Participate in the development and management of department budgets and productivity targets
• Manage human resources utilization, promote employee satisfaction, support staff development, and utilize the progressive discipline process when appropriate
• Lead employees, support organizational goals and decisions, implement necessary changes, and participate in strategic planning for service needs and resource utilization
• Maintain and promote quality service and best practice
• Participate in quality improvement processes and assure implementation of regulatory standards
• Ensure service is provided considering the age-specific physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of patients served
• Continually evaluate departmental function and the delivery of patient service
• Keep Director and administration informed regarding level of care/service being provided and level of patient, employee, and physician satisfaction
• Act as a liaison between the patient/family, physician, and patient care team as necessary to problem solve
• Translate knowledge of professional and regulatory standards to policies, practices, and procedures and maintain for current changes
• Research interdepartmental problems/issues and take corrective action in a timely manner, promoting respectful and responsive communication between departments
• Supervise staff in service areas and guide staff in adherence to applicable standards of care/practice and departmental/organizational expectations
• Act as a resource to other departments for education and information in area of expertise
• Perform nursing assessments according to professional nursing practice
• Plan patient care using a multidisciplinary approach and individualized patient care plans
• Implement planned interventions in a safe and technically competent manner
• Evaluate outcomes through monitoring of patients and make appropriate changes in care to improve outcomes
• Meet teaching needs of patients and families
• Function within limits specified by the Nurse Practice Act and Title 22
• Document patient care appropriately according to policy
• Maintain current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Maintain current CPR, ACLS, and PALS recognition
• Address age-related physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
