Job Title: L&D
Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $66 – $71/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a L&D for a temporary assignment in Hermiston, Oregon. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a L&D:
• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Family Birth Center setting
• Communicate with Physicians, Nurse Manager, and Co-workers about changes in patient clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
• Initiate the computerized Plan of Care on admission
• Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision
• Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
• Accept responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of patient care activities
• Make evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria
• Work independently as needed
• Recognize and uphold patient confidentiality rights and responsibilities
• Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, grief, or trauma
• Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation
• Communicate effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background
• Incorporate guest relations into daily activities
• Provide care addressing the patient’s age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being
• Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position
• Float to other departments where qualified to perform patient care as needed
• Maintain current RN license in the State of Oregon
• Obtain ACLS and NRP certification within 6 months of hire
• Obtain EFM certification once trained in Labor and Delivery
• Complete CRASE training if travel assignment extends beyond a 6-month period
• Perform other related duties as assigned
