Job Title: Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA)
Location: Long Beach, California
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $136 – $146/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a temporary assignment in Long Beach, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):
• Cover OR and clinic settings, with potential to work outpatient/clinic only
• Work primarily in clinic with occasional hospital visits for new consults
• Perform and record pre-operative history and physical examinations
• Provide patient care expertise in postoperative acute care units
• See patients for follow-up visits in the office
• May work across care settings to follow patients
• Manage cardiac surgery patients pre- and post-operatively
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and charting
• Maintain current furnishing license to furnish medications in the State of California
• Maintain current DEA registration
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Comply with flu vaccine requirement (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Complete required non-billable computer modules (approximately 4 hours); any additional time spent on modules is billable
