Job Title: PSYCH
Location: Alorton, Illinois
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PSYCH for a temporary assignment in Alorton, Illinois. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a PSYCH:
• Manage and coordinate nursing care activities during client hospitalization, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, establishing outcomes, implementation, and evaluation
• Direct and assume responsibility for other personnel involved in client care
• Maintain professional accountability for all nursing care provided to clients
• Demonstrate competency in nursing judgment and awareness of economic barriers to healthcare
• Organize and coordinate nursing care delivery for assigned clients
• Provide direct client care activities in accordance with department and organization policies and procedures
• Plan, organize, and direct nursing functions for clients on the unit
• Make nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees
• Identify problems and use critical thinking skills to develop solutions
• Accurately and promptly implement physician orders
• Prepare, administer, and record medications in accordance with medication administration policy
• Record information concisely, accurately, and completely
• Comply with all infection control policies and procedures
• Coordinate and provide emergency care as needed
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel
• Evaluate the performance of personnel with recommendations for appropriate action
• Adjust interventions based on age-appropriate guidelines
• Demonstrate ability to set priorities in directing and/or providing safe client care in an organized and time-conscious manner
• Maintain work areas and assist with light housekeeping tasks as needed
• Maintain customer rights including confidentiality, privacy, safety, and security
• Adapt to changes in work assignments and environment
• Conduct group therapies as assigned
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and revise plan of care based on assessment
• Participate in and promote Process Improvement activities
• Provide care based upon client’s age-specific needs
• Monitor clients and document appropriately according to risk precaution level
• Maintain a safe environment by continuously monitoring for harmful contraband
• Attend in-services, training, and meetings as required
• Develop and evaluate own goals for professional growth
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings
• Establish collaborative relationships with physicians and other members of the healthcare team
• Promote harmonious relationships among the healthcare team and internal/external customers
• Work with clients 18 years of age and older
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Maintain current Illinois RN licensure
• Maintain CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
