Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: Massena, New York
Schedule: 12:00AM – 12:00AM x 2
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $130 – $140/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens assignment in Massena, New York. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Provide general medical care to hospital patients
• Diagnose and treat various illnesses and diseases in a hospital setting
• Examine patients as they are admitted to the hospital
• Coordinate care for hospitalized patients
• Communicate with a patient’s primary care doctor during and after their hospital stay
• Follow up with a patient’s primary care doctor after their hospital stay
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and X-rays
• Answer patient questions about treatments and care plans
• Work night shift hours (7pm-7am) on a 7 on/7 off schedule
• Manage an adult patient population with a wide variety of acute medical problems
• Maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain valid NY State License
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Use Pyxis automated medication dispensing system
• Adhere to dress code requirements including business casual attire, closed-toe and closed-heel footwear, natural hair colors, conservative nails without enhancements, and conservative jewelry
• Comply with cell phone policy — cell phones must be left in locker during shift
• Provide a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a comparable specialty or setting
• Be Board Certified
• Provide required 2-hour notice for call-ins by contacting supervisor
