Job Title: Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP)
Location: Springfield, Oregon
Schedule: 7:30AM – 5:30PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $1284 – $1383/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP) for a locum tenens assignment in Springfield, Oregon. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP):
• Provide Advanced Practice Provider (APP) services in Vascular Surgery, covering both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Work call shifts only, including 10-hour day call shifts (0700-1700), 14-hour beeper/overnight call (1700-0700), and 24-hour shifts when both are combined in a single day
• Report at the beginning of shift for 0700 start times to perform handoff and rounding duties
• Complete a minimum of 6 call shifts per month
• Perform rounding and admissions for inpatient care on a 36-bed unit
• Manage an average patient census of 15-20 patients per day within vascular/endovascular patient populations
• First assist in the OR and assist with in-clinic vascular/endovascular procedures
• Collaborate with and support an attending MD/DO; will not work solo
• Be available for clinic hours (0800-1630) if called in or required to be present at the clinic
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications (must be from American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation
• Provide documentation of clinical activity within the last 24 months representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested
• Submit a case log of surgical cases for the last 24 months, including documentation noting whether assistance was as first, second, or third assist
• Provide specific documentation of training and competency for first assist in surgery, including type and number of procedures and name of primary operator
• Comply with flu vaccine requirement (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Maintain valid state licensure appropriate to the assignment start date
