Job Title: Primary Care Physician
Location: Florence, Oregon
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 58-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $132 – $142/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Primary Care Physician for a temporary assignment in Florence, Oregon. These positions are 58-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Primary Care Physician:
• Provide Family Medicine Primary Care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Assess and evaluate newborns in the hospital immediately after birth (when on call)
• Provide care and assessment to newborns in the hospital and/or clinic setting (no obstetric-focused medical or surgical care before, during, or after pregnancy)
• See an average of 20 patients per day in the clinic setting, ranging from newborns to geriatric patients
• Perform rounding and admissions for inpatient cases
• Perform circumcisions as a required procedure (no longer required as of 8/31/26)
• Participate in call schedule, most likely one week per month, including weekend coverage, sharing pediatrics and post-delivery call (pediatric call no longer required as of 8/31/26)
• Provide 4 hours gratis for 24-hour weekend call
• Work independently, as the role requires the ability to work solo
• Collaborate with OBGYN physicians who perform deliveries, CRNA anesthesia support, L&D nurses, and Respiratory Therapy for newborn resuscitation support
• Coordinate transfers of pediatric patients under 8 years of age to appropriate higher-level care facilities as needed
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation (minimum 1 year of Epic experience required)
• Maintain active Oregon state medical license (MD/DO) at time of placement
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications (from American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Provide documentation of family medicine services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested within the previous 24 months
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
