Job Title: Primary Care Physician
Location: Ketchikan, Alaska
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $138 – $148/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Primary Care Physician for a temporary assignment in Ketchikan, Alaska. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Primary Care Physician:
• Provide outpatient Family Medicine services in a clinic setting serving patients of all ages
• Maintain a patient volume of approximately 16-18 patients per day
• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on standard 8-hour shifts
• Practice as a solo provider
• Perform and/or demonstrate willingness to perform desired procedures including skin excisions/punch biopsies, Nexplanon and IUD insertions, cryotherapy, and toenail evulsions
• Demonstrate involvement as an admitting physician for at least 20 patients during the past two years
• Utilize Epic EMR system for clinical documentation and charting
• Maintain current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Bring a minimum of 3.5 to 5 years of Family Medicine experience relevant to the acuity of the patient population
• Comply with flu vaccine requirements (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Obtain and maintain appropriate clinic and hospital privileges as required
• Assist with coverage at a nearby island facility on an occasional basis, approximately one week per month, to cover PTO and gap periods for another Family Medicine physician
