Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OR for a temporary assignment in Grand Junction, Colorado. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OR:
• Performs the perioperative nursing role including preoperative assessment of the patient, nursing care plan formulation, operative care plan implementation, and postoperative evaluation of the patient’s response/outcome
• Evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of nursing care provided with documentation of such
• Assists in the set up and performance of cases by assembling equipment and supplies according to sterile technique
• Assists in the set up and performance of cases by opening sterile packs, instruments, and supplies according to sterile technique
• Prepares each patient for surgery by placing the patient in the appropriate position and preparing the patient’s operative site
• Confirms the procedure and site according to the surgeon’s history and physical and operating room team
• Assists in helping move the patient to and from the operating table
• Performs surgical counts including sponges, sharps, and instruments
• Documents nursing care on legal records
• Assists in the clean-up of the operating room following surgery, including proper disposal of used supplies and sharps
• Maintains valid RN License
• Maintains a minimum of one (1) year of surgical experience
