Location: Bethel, Alaska
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $65 – $70/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OR for a temporary assignment in Bethel, Alaska. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OR:
• Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes
• Serve as a resource person when situations require
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care
• Provide care for all patients from birth to elderly
• Practice nursing in accordance with state regulations regarding Registered Nursing
• Utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care
• Administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient/family/significant other education
• Maintain proficient oral and written communication skills
• Apply cognitive and technical knowledge to manage care across the continuum of care
• Demonstrate basic EKG skills and basic nursing skills
• Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
• Document all actions involved in care delivery accurately
• Follow established guidelines and procedures
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Apply theoretical knowledge of the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care
• Maintain current BLS certification and pass required competencies for the position
• Maintain valid licensure in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse
• Supervise Unit Secretaries and Patient Care Technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
• Maintain flexibility with work schedule and possess the ability for independent actions within prescribed limits
