Schedule: 7:00AM – 5:00PM x 4
Term: 11-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $63 – $67/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OR for a temporary assignment in Puyallup, Washington. These positions are 11-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OR:
• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and post-operative planning needs
• Review patient history and physical with patient/family and assure completion within appropriate timeframe
• Review available information obtained by other health care team members
• Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and other appropriate caregivers
• Complete assessments and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy
• Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family, and health team input
• Initiate a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data, and the medical plan of care
• Develop realistic and measurable goals in conjunction with the patient/family
• Consider physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age-specific, and educational needs of the patient in the plan of care
• Plan care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team
• Review and revise the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities
• Provide care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements
• Promote continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating patient status to other caregivers
• Evaluate the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching and revise the plan of care as needed
• Evaluate patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members
• Evaluate patient response and the effectiveness of patient teaching
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a legible and timely manner
• Accurately and timely note physician orders
• Provide care based on the best evidence available and participate in research activities within clinical practice
• Participate in facility shared leadership
• Interact and participate in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors
• Promote growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate
• Actively participate in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes
• Participate in professional organizations as applicable
• Provide relief charge for staff and manage workflow of the department as needed
• Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Obtain PALS certification within 90 days of start date if assigned to ASC services pediatrics
