Job Title: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
Location: Potsdam, New York
Schedule: 6:00AM – 4:00PM x 6
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $127 – $136/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) for a locum tenens assignment in Potsdam, New York. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP):
• Provide general medical care to hospital patients
• Diagnose and treat various illnesses and diseases in a hospital setting
• Examine patients as they are admitted to the hospital
• Coordinate care for hospitalized patients
• Communicate with a patient’s primary care doctor during and after hospital stay
• Follow up with a patient’s primary care doctor after their hospital stay
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and X-rays
• Answer patient questions about treatments
• Maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Adhere to a 14 shifts per month schedule on a 7 on/7 off rotation
• Manage an adult patient population with a wide variety of acute medical problems
• Maintain valid NY State licensure
• Must be Board Certified
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
• Adhere to dress code and professional appearance policies while on duty
• Comply with facility clock-in/out, break, and overtime approval policies
• Provide required 2-hour notice for call-ins and follow proper call-in procedures
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience
