Job Title: Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Location: Lake Saint Louis, Missouri
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $135 – $146/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Hospice and Palliative Medicine for a temporary assignment in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Hospice and Palliative Medicine:
• Provide hospice physician locum tenens coverage for home-based and hospice care settings
• Work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Operate primarily in a remote capacity with initial on-site orientation and occasional in-person visits as needed
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings every other week, Tuesday through Thursday
• Provide rotating telephone-only call coverage every fourth week, Sunday through Saturday
• Conduct hospice admissions and eligibility assessments
• Perform recertifications and verbal certifications for hospice patients
• Manage symptom control and prescribe medications as clinically appropriate
• Provide clinical oversight and support to the interdisciplinary hospice team, nursing staff, and clinical support staff
• Complete clinical documentation using Epic (strongly preferred)
• Complete death certificates as needed
• Maintain Missouri (MO) state licensure
• Maintain DEA registration due to medication prescribing responsibilities
• Demonstrate hospice and palliative medicine experience; board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred
• Internal Medicine or Hospitalist board-certified physicians with demonstrated hospice experience may be considered
