Job Title: Lab Tech
Location: Machias, Maine
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $46 – $49/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Lab Tech for a temporary assignment in Machias, Maine. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Lab Tech:
• Perform laboratory tests and accurately report results to physicians for use in diagnosis, treatment, and/or monitoring of diseases
• Work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager
• Assist in the general operation of the laboratory
• Participate in quality assurance programs
• Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Apply independent judgment and professional education in performing duties
• Maintain National certification (AMT or ASCP)
• Serve as a general supervisor for waived, moderate, and high complexity testing after successful completion of probationary period
• Work independently as required
• Apply knowledge of principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
• Utilize both verbal and written communication skills effectively
• Hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or a related area of specialty
• Maintain certification/registration or certification/registry eligibility as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
• Work night shift as scheduled
