Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Other for a temporary assignment in York, Maine. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Other:
• Coordinate concurrent utilization management activities house-wide, serving as the main link between the patient, health care team, organization, and payors during the patient’s hospital stay
• Conduct assessments of patient needs, identify resources required to transition patients to the next setting, and secure the necessary resources
• Collaborate, educate, and lead an interdisciplinary team of professionals in daily care rounds, care conferences, and care planning
• Utilize excellent communication skills in written, verbal, and electronic systems such as email and software applications
• Work with community organizations to secure durable medical equipment, health insurance authorizations, and arrange transportation
• Participate in managing the length of stay of an inpatient hospital population
• Apply knowledge of hospital reimbursement methods and quality measures applicable to the care management department
• Maintain active BLS certification
• Hold an Associate or Bachelor degree as a Registered Nurse with 3-5 years of clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing, home care, hospital case management, and/or utilization review
• Demonstrate utilization review and discharge planning experience
• Maintain certification by a nationally recognized case management or utilization review organization (CCM or ACM preferred)
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as required
