Job Title: Oncology
Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $68 – $74/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncology for a temporary assignment in Hermiston, Oregon. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Oncology:
• Provide direct and indirect patient services to Chemotherapy patients
• Efficiently communicate with Chemotherapy Physicians and NPs, Nurse Manager, and co-workers about changes in patient clinical condition and policy/procedure updates
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient and unit conditions to ensure safe and quality patient care
• Perform administrative functions, teaching, triage, counseling, and supervision related to patient care
• Administer chemotherapy medications and treatments as prescribed by accredited physicians/NPs
• Initiate and maintain the computerized Plan of Care/Standard of Care on patient admission
• Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
• Accept responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of patient care activities
• Make evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria
• Work independently while adhering to established institutional policies and procedures
• Recognize and uphold the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality
• Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, grief, or trauma
• Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation
• Communicate effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background
• Incorporate guest relations into daily activities
• Provide care addressing the patient’s age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial wellbeing
• Participate in the performance improvement plan of the organization
• Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position
• Maintain current BLS certification and ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Card
• Maintain current RN license in the State of Oregon
• Perform other related duties as assigned
