Job Title: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
Location: Massena, New York
Schedule: 12:00AM – 12:00AM x 2
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $130 – $140/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) for a locum tenens assignment in Massena, New York. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP):
• Provide general medical care to hospital patients as a Hospitalist/Nocturnist Physician or APP
• Diagnose and treat various illnesses and diseases in a hospital setting
• Examine patients upon admission
• Coordinate care for hospitalized patients
• Communicate with a patient’s primary care doctor during and after hospital stay
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and X-rays
• Answer patient questions about treatments
• Work night shifts (7pm-7am) on a 7 on/7 off schedule
• Manage an adult patient population with a wide variety of acute medical problems
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:10-15
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Use Pyxis automated medication dispensing system
• Maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain valid NY State License
• Maintain Board Certification
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience
• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
• Adhere to dress code policies including business casual attire, closed-toe and closed-heel footwear, natural hair colors, conservative nail care, and limited jewelry
• Refrain from cell phone use during shift; store personal devices in locker
• Provide a minimum of 2 hours notice for call-ins and notify supervisor
• Clock in and out at shift start and end
• Take required 30-minute lunch break
• Obtain approval for any overtime hours
• Wear ID badge at all times while on duty
• Refrain from use of cologne, perfumes, body sprays, or strong-scented aftershave while on duty
