Job Title: PTA
Location: White River Junction, Vermont
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 16-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $42 – $46/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PTA for a temporary assignment in White River Junction, Vermont. These positions are 16-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a PTA:
• Act as a member of the rehabilitation staff, providing physical therapy services according to a patient plan of care under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist (RPT) and in accordance with agency policies and state practice
• Provide treatment to patients as prescribed by physician after initial and periodic evaluation of physical therapy and rehabilitation needs have been established by an RPT
• Treat patients within the plan of care developed with the RPT to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, activities of daily living including transfer activities, and prosthetic training
• Make use of equipment such as ultra-violet and infrared lamps, low voltage generation, diathermy, and ultrasonic machines
• Observe, record, and report to the RPT the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient’s condition
• Teach the patient and caregivers self-care techniques and activities as appropriate
• Arrange with the health agency for use of equipment available to patients
• Complete and submit accurate and relevant clinical notes and required documentation in a timely manner in accordance with expected agency standards
• Maintain a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in Vermont and New Hampshire or hold a compact license
