Job Title: ICU
Location: Moses Lake, Washington
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $59 – $64/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a ICU for a temporary assignment in Moses Lake, Washington. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a ICU:
• Function as both a caregiver and care manager, assuming responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame implementing the Nursing Process
• Perform assessment and data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status
• Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner by utilizing and adhering to pre-determined procedures, policies, and care plans
• Identify patient and significant other learning needs, readiness for learning, and implement patient teaching as defined by policy and care plans
• Document in patient charts via electronic medical records and/or paper processes per policy and in accordance with all regulatory requirements
• Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to patient, significant other, and family rights regardless of race, age, religion, color, creed, sex, national origin, or any other protected classification
• Demonstrate appropriate delegation of patient care activities and effectively supervise assigned coworkers
• Demonstrate effective organization and priority setting utilizing sound critical thinking
• Demonstrate appropriate use of lines of authority
• May be required to function as a Charge Nurse including delegation of patient assignments, assisting with admits/discharges/transfers, coordinating staff coverage, and serving as a unit lead
• Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to stay current with latest trends in area of expertise
• Function with awareness of and adherence to safety requirements including security, MSDS, equipment safety, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting, and body mechanics
• Ensure self-compliance with organization policies, procedures, and labor agreements
• Maintain current Washington State RN Licensure
• Maintain HCP Level BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 30 days of hire
• Obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire for Intensive Care Unit assignments, renewed every 2 years
• Obtain PALS certification within 12 months of hire for Intensive Care Unit assignments, renewed every 2 years
• Obtain TNCC certification within 12 months of hire for Intensive Care Unit assignments, renewed every 4 years
• Obtain PEARS certification within 12 months of hire for Intensive Care Unit assignments, renewed every 2 years
• Complete moderate sedation training within 12 months of hire and annually thereafter
• Complete 4 hours of Total Joint Program orientation training and 4 hours of annual training as required
• Follow the pathway for total joint replacement dependent on area of specialty
