Job Title: Ambulatory Care
Location: Juneau, Alaska
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $68 – $74/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Ambulatory Care for a temporary assignment in Juneau, Alaska. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Ambulatory Care:

• Maintain an active, full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska at time of submittal
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of urgent care experience within the last 2 years
• Provide clinical services within the Urgent Care Department, working with providers, clinic staff, and management to ensure excellent quality of care and efficient utilization of resources
• Provide leadership and direction to clinic staff ensuring efficient operation of all aspects of the clinic, including front desk and patient care
• Maintain medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system
• Ensure necessary quality control checks are completed with Point of Care tests
• Clearly and correctly document all care and services provided in the clinic, completing nurse duties professionally and in a timely manner
• Oversee the opening and closing of provider clinics
• Assist providers and other staff as needed, anticipating their needs to ensure efficient and quality patient care
• Communicate effectively with other departments to serve as an effective resource for patients, providers, and fellow clinic staff
• Maintain skill sets, annual competencies, certifications, and participate in in-services and educational programs as assigned
• Complete all mandatory training and attend and participate in staff meetings
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including adequate supplies and upkeep of unit and equipment
• Report any defective or missing equipment and safety hazards
• Apply nursing process and customer service principles in the working environment
• Complete assessments, anticipate patient needs, and perform specimen collection
• Utilize computers and medical equipment proficiently
• Multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to maintain good working relations with staff and departments
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Provide proof of flu vaccine
• Complete fingerprint card processing requirements prior to start date
