Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: Permanent
Salary: $60000.00 – $90000.00
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PCU for a permanent assignment in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Responsibilities for a PCU:
• Perform assessments and develop individualized plans of care for patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and related diagnoses such as diabetes, renal disease, and pulmonary disease
• Implement and evaluate patient care plans, administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in accordance with current clinical nursing practice
• Direct, monitor, and evaluate care delegated to non-licensed personnel
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team members to ensure safe and accurate delivery of patient care
• Provide care in an Inpatient Mixed Acuity unit where nursing care scales up or down based on individual patient needs
• Utilize hemodynamic monitoring equipment including EKG, invasive and non-invasive pressure monitoring, cardiac output monitoring, and telemetry
• Work flexible schedules covering all shifts and weekends as needed
• Maintain current Registered Nurse licensure in applicable state or Nursing Compact state
• Obtain BLS certification within 30 days of employment
• Obtain ACLS certification within one year of employment if assigned to applicable departments (PCU, ED, Cath Lab, Outpatient Services, or Phase II Outpatient Cardiac Rehab)
• Obtain PALS or ENPC certification within one year of employment if the ED is the home department
• Participate in education and mentoring programs with potential to progress to critical care nursing
