Job Title: ER MED-SURG
Location: Lawton, Oklahoma
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $52 – $56/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a ER MED-SURG for a temporary assignment in Lawton, Oklahoma. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a ER MED-SURG:
• Perform comprehensive and focused assessments of patients presenting with emergent, urgent, or non-urgent conditions.
• Triage patients using evidence-based triage protocols to determine acuity levels and initiate appropriate care.
• Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with hospital policy and provider orders.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and point-of-care testing devices.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, EMS personnel, and other healthcare team members.
• Coordinate patient care, including diagnostic testing, re-evaluation, disposition planning, and patient education.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in rapid response, trauma activations, code blue, stroke, and STEMI protocols as required.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety guidelines, and hospital standards.
• Support a culture of patient-centered care, empathy, and service excellence in a high-volume ED environment.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Obtain TNCC and ENPC certifications within required timeframe after hire.
• Maintain current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Apply strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate competency in trauma care, cardiac care, and stabilizing critically ill patients.
• Remain calm and focused during high-stress situations.
