Job Title: MED-SURG
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 15-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG for a temporary assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. These positions are 15-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG:
• Float between various medical and surgical units as a Flex RN
• Work 12-hour day shifts (0645 to 1915), scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and patient care management
• Operate equipment including Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
• Maintain active BLS certification; ACLS required (PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC preferred)
• Apply 2-10 years of RN experience across medical and surgical patient populations
• Float to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit as needed
• Manage patient ratios varying by unit: Medical 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights); Laulima 1:6; Cardiovascular 1:4
• Maintain active State of Hawaii RN license prior to start of assignment
• Provide documented proof of immunity (medical and religious exemptions not accepted)
• Adhere to professional nursing attire dress code (clean scrubs)
• Complete unit-specific orientation and training programs for each assigned unit
• Arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend a required employee health appointment on Friday
