Job Title: L&D
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $65 – $70/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a L&D for a temporary assignment in Bozeman, Montana. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a L&D:
• Must be able to circulate
• Must be willing to float to Mother Baby and take couplets
• Must be willing to float to other units as safety companion
• Work in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team
• Plan and implement patient and family education
• Assess the needs and initiate appropriate intervention for patients
• Maintain current Montana Registered Nurse licensure
• Maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Maintain current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider certification (recertification required every 2 years)
• Maintain Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion or equivalent AWHONN approved course (FHM recertification required every 2 years; not required if a Lactation RN)
• Maintain current American Heart Association ACLS certification (not required if a Lactation RN)
• If Lactation RN: Maintain certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC)
• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation (Assessment)
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation
• Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes (Plan of Care)
• Implement the identified plan of care
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment
• Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
• Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice
• Evaluate one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations
• Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Collaborate with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
• Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice
• Integrate research findings into practice
• Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession
• Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
• Work in a busy and stressful environment
• Apply creativity, problem analysis, and decision-making skills
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and after-hours shifts
• Be available for on-call work as needed
• Complete all required education and training on time per applicable requirements
• Complete two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education
• Practice modified primary nursing with competence, willingness, and ability
