Job Title: Oncologist
Location: New Ulm, Minnesota
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $406 – $438/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncologist for a temporary assignment in New Ulm, Minnesota. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Oncologist:
• Practice full-spectrum medical oncology and hematology in a community-based outpatient setting
• Conduct new patient consults, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and oncology supportive therapies
• Manage ongoing disease management, surveillance, and follow-up visits
• Review labs, imaging, and patient status prior to clinic each day
• Coordinate with infusion team to approve treatments, address lab abnormalities, and manage urgent patient needs
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncology partners, and primary care and specialty providers
• Provide care across a connected clinic and infusion model with 13-20 patients per day
• Utilize telehealth for palliative care, genetic counseling, and specialty care as needed
• Participate in clinical trials through MMCORC and NCI-supported research programs when eligible
• Complete charting within 24-hour completion expectation
• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Maintain MN License or IMLC as required
• Provide primarily onsite coverage with potential for some telehealth coverage
• Serve as a key oncology leader and primary oncology provider, shaping care delivery, workflows, and patient experience
• Build longitudinal relationships with patients and families in the community setting
