Job Title: MED SURG PEDS
Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Schedule: 4:00PM – 4:00AM x 3
Term: 16-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $62 – $67/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED SURG PEDS for a temporary assignment in Fort Defiance, Arizona. These positions are 16-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED SURG PEDS:
• Provide nursing care for adult geriatric and pediatric patients in a Med-Surg Unit (MSU)
• Maintain staffing ratios: Non-COVID typically 4:1 (max 5:1); COVID patients typically 2:1 (max 3:1)
• Maintain current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of med-surg experience and at least one (1) year of pediatric experience
• Be comfortable and competent in caring for both adult and pediatric patients
• Work 12-hour night shifts with flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Assist with coverage of Flu Immunization clinics as needed
• Attend staff meetings as required
• Float to other departments as needed, which may include taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones
• Attend New Employee Orientation, scheduled on Mondays only
• Meet all compliance deadlines to avoid being pushed to the next scheduled orientation
