Location: Vail, Colorado
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OR for a temporary assignment in Vail, Colorado. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OR:
• Apply expertise in sterile and aseptic technique, combining knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies in performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, functioning with working knowledge of AORN standards
• Maintain and check all items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal and packaging integrity, sterile indicator if present, and expiration dates
• Ensure that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety
• Monitor sterile field for events that may contaminate, interfere, or alter the field and initiate or notify of need for corrective action under supervision
• Work towards competency or maintain competency with Tier 1 surgical cases
• Maintain flexibility while contributing to the individualized, ongoing delivery of care within the scope of practice
• Model effective, timely communication with the perioperative team with full participation in the Time Out Process, including Briefings and Debriefings
• Assist team in patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation
• Maintain currency in new technologies and procedures, including instrumentation and equipment
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
• Role model the principles of a Just Culture
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association
• Maintain valid Surgical Technologist licensure in the state of Colorado
• Comply with HIPAA requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
