Job Title: PACU
Location: Lancaster, Ohio
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 8-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $52 – $56/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PACU for a temporary assignment in Lancaster, Ohio. These positions are 8-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a PACU:
• Work schedule of 9AM – 5:30PM, 3 x 8-hour shifts per week
• Participate in weekend call rotation (one day Saturday or Sunday every 4.5 weeks) and night call (4-5 times per 6-week schedule)
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process
• Provide quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway
• Provide education for patients and family/significant others from admission through discharge
• Maintain thorough, concise, accurate, and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway
• Notify physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status
• Administer medications and perform treatments in an accurate and safe manner
• Implement physician orders as written
• Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care and report malfunctions to the appropriate department
• Accept responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care
• Demonstrate empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility, and teamwork in all interactions
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and report unsafe conditions to appropriate individuals
• Utilize AIDET, TeamSTEPPS, and other tools to anticipate and resolve patient and family concerns
• Comply with established policies, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines
• Complete all mandatory education and participate in ongoing learning opportunities
• Maintain valid Ohio RN licensure and current CPR certification
• Supervise and direct Nursing Assistants (NAs) in a professional manner
• Manage urgent situations calmly and communicate empathically with patients
• Prioritize work tasks effectively when multiple issues require attention
• Apply strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills in daily practice
