Job Title: RRT
Location: Bethel, Alaska
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $59 – $63/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a RRT for a temporary assignment in Bethel, Alaska. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a RRT:
• Provide full scope of cardiopulmonary services to patients of all ages
• Ensure patient care is delivered with respect for patient rights and dignity
• Assist in problem solving in all aspects of patient care
• Perform airway management including intubation assist and patient suctioning techniques
• Operate and manage adult, pediatric, and infant ventilators
• Procure and analyze arterial blood gases (ABG)
• Perform chest physiotherapy and RSV and AFB sample procurement
• Administer respiratory therapy medications with knowledge of delivery methods, indications, and contraindications
• Conduct pulmonary function testing (PFT)
• Perform CPR and maintain BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications encouraged
• Operate equipment including pulse oximeters, suction equipment, O2 cylinders, O2 concentrators, nebulizers, and supplemental O2 delivery devices
• Conduct treadmill/stress testing and EKG monitoring including Holter and event monitors
• Utilize ISTAT arterial blood gas analyzer
• Read and interpret physician orders, technical manuals, and departmental policies
• Accurately document therapies administered to patients
• Communicate effectively with physicians, managers, and patients regarding respiratory treatment modalities
• Utilize interpreter services when necessary to communicate with non-English speaking patients
• Assist with revising procedure manuals and writing reports
• Maintain valid NBRC credentials (CRTT, CRT, RT, or RRT)
• Provide proof of completed COVID vaccinations
