Job Title: Lab Tech
Location: Bethel, Alaska
Schedule: 7:00AM – 3:00PM x 5
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Lab Tech for a temporary assignment in Bethel, Alaska. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Lab Tech:
• Perform laboratory tests under the direction of the laboratory manager
• Execute quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding laboratory findings
• Perform duties in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology
• Operate and maintain clinical laboratory instrumentation
• Function as a laboratory generalist across multiple disciplines
• Work independently and provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants
• Maintain board eligibility by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment
• Obtain and maintain certification as MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment
• Comply with required immunization requirements prior to start
• Complete required compliance documentation and credentialing requirements prior to onboarding
• Attend New Employee Orientation as scheduled
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures for laboratory services delivery
