Job Title: Gastroenterologist
Location: Topeka, Kansas
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $309 – $333/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Gastroenterologist for a temporary assignment in Topeka, Kansas. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Gastroenterologist:
• Provide Gastroenterology/Endoscopy inpatient and outpatient coverage services
• Participate in 24/7 inpatient call coverage for the GI Service Line
• Cover a minimum of 26 weeks per year as part of a two-physician call-sharing arrangement
• Conduct inpatient-only rounds on Mondays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
• Perform outpatient procedures Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by inpatient coverage until 1:00 PM
• Conduct inpatient-only rounds on Fridays from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
• Resume procedures at 3:30 PM or earlier on any day of the week as needed or when a second anesthesia provider is available
• Manage an average daily procedure volume of 8 cases
• Manage an average daily consultation volume of 7 consultations
• Provide weekday after-hours call coverage from the completion of the last daily procedure until 7:00 AM the following morning
• Provide weekend call coverage from 7:00 AM Saturday through 7:00 AM Monday
• Collaborate with two hospital-based GI-specific APRNs as available support staff
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation
• Advanced GI credentials preferred but not required
